Unfortunately we have made the decision to POSTPONE our Come and Sing Saturday scheduled for 20th April 2024. The Come and Sing 'OPERATORIO' event will now be Saturday 14th September 2024 There are a large number of events already taking place in the Helensburgh area that weekend (which we didn't know when the date was chosen last August!) and the numbers coming forward would not have made the event viable. |
Tickets are now avaiable for our 60th Anniversary performance in Glasgow City Halls on 18th February. Members can get them from the Treasurer.

A group of 8 sopranos had a very lovely social day out in Edinburgh on Saturday attending a Come and SIng evnet hosted by by Operacaledonia and featuring Derek Clark as conductor. We sang a chorus from Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, the humming chorus from Puccini's Madame Butterfly, Mozart's Voyager chorus from Idomeneo and Verdis exquisite Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves .Lesley booked us into a very nice local reataurant for artisanal pasta and a glass of wine. Yum! We even got some of Derek's retirement cake at coffee time. A great day out!

In September 2019 the choir was awarded the Rural Scotland Adopt a Composer funding to work with Aileen Sweeney on a new composition for the choir. Following workshops with the choir, Aileen composed Breathing Place with words written by Martin Raymond reflecting choir members' love for the area in which they live. This performance was scheduled for 31st May 2020, postponed due to Covid restrictions and 18 months later we are able to perform again. Concert is part of the Helensburgh Parish Church Sunday @7 programme and will start with Vivaldi's Gloria. |
The choir is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Duncan Williams to our new piano accompanist.
